HOSPITAL PROVIDER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS COURSES

Welcome to the Boston Metropolitan Medical Response System

On behalf of Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Boston Public Health Commission Executive Director Barbara Ferrer, welcome!

The Boston MMRS ensures that Boston's residents and visitors can count on the best planned, most coordinated response to a terrorist attack or other large-scale emergency.

Each and every day, the public health and public safety professionals alongside the City's academic, healthcare, and medical leaders and resources are working hard to make certain that Boston is prepared. I welcome you to browse this website and learn about Boston MMRS. I am confident that you will find Boston to be on the leading edge of disaster and large-scale emergency preparedness.

Even before September 11th, Boston's resources were working together, planning for the unthinkable - and today we remain here, ready to serve at a moment's notice. Federal, State, and Local officials are all a part of the coordinated response to any major incident here in Boston. I am proud of the cooperation and inter-agency collaboration that takes place here in Boston, and I hope you will be too.

Thank you, and welcome to Boston MMRS!

Richard A. Serino, EMT-P
Chief of Department, Boston EMS
Assistant Director, Boston Public Health Commission
Director, Boston MMRS
